More often than not, the one thing that separates small business successes from small business failures is planning.
Small and medium-size business should have business systems and procedures that are based on the new reality of the business world. This should include a multi-year Business Plan, Budget, Cost Controls and timely Measurements. These measurements should be reviewed at least weekly to insure the business is still on track.
With all of the resources available to small businesses these days, there is no excuse for not taking the time to ask the right questions, develop a vision and put a road-map in place that highlights the best routes to profitability.
